The MidAtlantic Center for OCD and Anxiety requires at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. You may notify your therapist by either email or voicemail. If less than 24 hours/no notice is provided, the client will be charged the full fee for the appointment.
Because telehealth therapy eliminates the hazards of driving in bad weather, we will be open for business even during inclement weather.
Your privacy and that of your Protected Health Information (PHI) is our utmost priority. Our practice uses a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant, encrypted email format called Hushmail. Even so, we minimize clinical information exchanged via email. Please save non-urgent clinical questions for your next session.
The privacy of text messaging cannot be guaranteed since it is not HIPAA-compliant. Our staff do not text with clients.
Social media formats, such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and others not named here have become a daily part of people’s personal lives. While we value the professional relationships we have with our clients, our staff do not connect with clients on any personal social media format. Doing so would violate HIPAA as well as ethical guidelines regarding dual relationships.
PsyPact legislation allows Psychologists to provide telehealth services across state lines to states that also participate in PsyPact. As of September 2021, 26 states have passed and enacted PsyPact legislation. For a map of PsyPact participating states, click here: https://psypact.site-ym.com/page/psypactmap
PsyPact benefits clients in many ways. With PsyPact, clients can continue working with their therapist via telehealth while in another PsyPact state for any reason, such as work, college, a vacation, or even a move. Clients will have improved continuity of care since they don’t have to change therapists or take unwanted breaks. PsyPact also allows clients the opportunity to find a specialist that they might not otherwise have access to. However, there are situations in which telehealth is not recommended when a client is in another state.
